LAHORE: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Shahbaz Gul has confirmed that the DNA of the accused in the motorway abuse case matched. He tweeted on social networking site Twitter that the accused's DNA matched with the victim Shahbaz Gul congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, I Punjab, CCPO Lahore and the team.

He further said that inshallah there will be arrest soon. Let the people know that Usman Bazdar was in a meeting with IG and CCPO till 4 pm. The Chief Minister has personally monitored the whole case.

On the other hand, the preliminary investigation report of the motorway abuse case was submitted to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar.

According to media sources, the report submitted to the Chief Minister states that one accused has been identified in the motorway abuse case. The accused Abid Malhi is a resident of Fort Abbas. According to details, the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister was also attended by Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, Chief Secretary, IG Punjab and Additional Chief Secretary Home in which the progress so far regarding the motorway abuse case was reviewed. On the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that the accused involved in this tragic incident will not escape punishment, will not leave China until justice is provided to the affected family as it is the responsibility of the state to provide immediate justice to the victims.
