Accused who matched DNA with woman's clothes already has criminal record, preliminary investigation report reveals

LAHORE: The preliminary investigation report of the motorway abuse case has been submitted to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar. According to media sources, the report submitted to the Chief Minister states that one accused has been identified in the motorway abuse case. Is a resident, the identity of the accused was made possible due to a DNA match. Abid has not been arrested yet. CTD is taking action for this purpose.

According to details, the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister was also attended by Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, Chief Secretary, IG Punjab and Additional Chief Secretary Home in which the progress so far regarding the motorway abuse case was reviewed.

On the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that the accused involved in this tragic incident will not escape punishment, will not leave China until justice is provided to the affected family as it is the responsibility of the state to provide immediate justice to the victims. Punjab Police will provide services till the deployment of Motorway Police.

It is to be noted that earlier it was also reported that one main accused has been arrested in Lahore Motorway gang rape case, another accused will also be arrested soon. Talking to a private TV channel, senior journalist Kashif Abbasi said that Punjab Police has succeeded in arresting one accused involved in Lahore Motorway rape case. Sources in the Punjab government also confirmed the arrest of the main accused. The person arrested by the police is the main accused in the Gujjarpura gang-rape tragedy. The DNA test made it possible to reach the Arrested accused.
