PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has enacted a law on the weight of school bags for children, under which nursery school children weigh 1.5 kg, first class 2.4 kg, second to fifth class 5.3 kg, sixth to tenth class 5.4. The draft law also proposes a fine against educational institutions violating it, under which violating private educational institutions will be fined Rs 2 lakh. Action will also be taken against government officials for not stopping the violation.
