Accountability court orders arrest of Shahbaz Sharif's wife and daughter

Nusrat Shahbaz and Rabia Imran were issued non-warrant arrest for not appearing before the court

LAHORE: Money laundering case against Shahbaz Sharif family has come to light. Accountability court heard money laundering reference against Shahbaz Sharif family. Nusrat Shahbaz, wife of PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif and daughter Rabia Imran Khan. Non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued for him. The court has ordered to arrest both of them and produce them.

The court has issued arrest warrants for Nusrat Shahbaz and Rabita Imran Khan for not appearing before the court. Shahbaz Sharif was also arrested on the orders of the Lahore High Court in the money laundering case yesterday. The NAB prosecutor told the court that the inquiry was started after receiving a complaint against Shahbaz Sharif from the SBP's financial monitoring unit.

Shahbaz Sharif and his sons set up 9 business units from 2008 to 2018. In 1990, Shahbaz Sharif's assets were worth Rs. 21 lakhs. In 1998, his and his children's assets were worth Rs. The value of assets of Shahbaz Sharif and his family has reached close to Rs 6 billion due to anonymous account holders, frontmen. Shahbaz Sharif and his family have created more than Rs 7 billion through corruption.

The NAB prosecutor informed the court that the Lahore High Court had rejected the bail plea of   Hamza Shahbaz in the money laundering case. The NAB prosecutor took the position that Shahbaz Sharif was trying to influence the investigation and there was a fear that he might flee the country. The NAB prosecutor said that Shahbaz Sharif's son Salman Shahbaz has been declared a fugitive in the money laundering case.
