US expresses condolences over the death of a blasphemy accused in a Peshawar court

The United States has demanded that Pakistan take action on the killing of a blasphemy accused in a Peshawar court. The State Department tweeted condolences over the death of the Prophet in court, tweeting on social networking site Twitter.

We offer our condolences to the family of Tahir Naseem, an American citizen who was killed inside a courtroom in Pakistan. We urge Pakistan to take immediate action and implement such reforms,   the tweet said. Which prevented such a tragedy from happening again.

It is to be noted that the accused of blasphemy was shot dead in front of the judge in the court yesterday and the accused of blasphemy was killed on the spot.

After the incident, the accused was arrested from the court room. Media reports said that the incident of firing took place in Additional Sessions Judge Shaukatullah's Court No. 14 at Judicial Complex Peshawar. Judge Shaukatullah was also present in the court at the time of the incident. A case of blasphemy was registered under Section 295 of the Pakistan Penal Code. During the hearing, the victim Tahir Naseem was produced in the court. A stampede broke out in the court immediately after the incident. However, the police on the spot arrested the accused Khalid and transferred him to the concerned police station and registered a case against him.
